After the investigation, the registration of 15 hospitals was cancelled for one year, while 4 hospitals were suspended for 6 months, 4 for 3 months, and 5 were issued warning letters.
The National Health Authority (NHA)’s National Anti-Fraud Unit has been regularly identifying and sending triggers for fraudulent claims. In this series, the Chhattisgarh government had directed a detailed investigation and action, after which the State Nodal Agency identified suspicious hospitals and called a special meeting of state and district level officers. A comprehensive inspection campaign was conducted in Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur districts, in which joint teams of doctors and administrative officers conducted thorough physical inspections of two hospitals each day.
Show cause notices were issued to all 28 hospitals upon finding evidence of irregularities during the inspection, and sufficient time was given to respond. The explanations given by the hospitals were not found satisfactory, based on which action has been taken as per the rules.

He said that the aim of the Ayushman Yojana and the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Health Yojana is to provide accessible and free medical services to every citizen of the state.
