Divisional Commissioner Satyanarayan Rathore held a review meeting of Municipal Corporations at the division level today, in which several important topics were discussed. The review focused on major issues like Water Management, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission and City Development Plan during the summer period.
In the context of water management in summer period, Mr. Rathore emphasized the need for rainwater harvesting in view of increasing consumption of water and increasing pressure on water sources. He talked about setting up a system of collecting water in reservoirs and wells to ensure the availability of water. He also instructed the officials to take stock of the situation of reservoirs. In addition, he explained the importance of making public water users aware to save water.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Rathore reviewed the status of incomplete and complete houses and instructed the officers to complete the houses under construction with quality soon. He also talked about giving priority to home entry into the houses which have already been completed.
The establishment of a plastic waste management unit under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) was discussed. Mr. Rathore directed to speed up action to improve solid and liquid waste management in rural and urban areas. Commissioner Shri Rathore gave necessary instructions towards implementing various development schemes in a timely and effective manner, so that citizens can get better services. He formed a team to remove stray cattle and asked to form an action plan, and directed to take legal action by compensating through the party.
All the Municipal Corporation Commissioners of the division, Regional Officer Environment and Conservation Board Smt. Anita Sawant, Urban Administration and Development Officers were present in the meeting.
