Chief Minister Announces Development Works Worth More Than 5 Crores in Jhurandi
Raipur, May 16, 2025/The villagers of Jhurandi village were overwhelmed by the ease and simplicity of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudeo Sai. In the scorching afternoon, the Chief Minister’s helicopter suddenly landed in Jhurandi village of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district. The villagers were filled with a mixture of joy and surprise at finding the Chief Minister among them without any prior notice. The Chief Minister held a “chaupal” in the shade of the village’s banyan tree and interacted with the villagers in a very cordial manner. In no time, the entire village gathered, and the atmosphere became festive. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma was also present with the Chief Minister.
Beginning his conversation with the villagers, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that he has held “jan chaupals” in many districts of Bastar, Surguja, and remote villages of districts like Janjgir, Champa, Kabirdham, and Bemetara. He said that today he has come directly to your village Jhurandi via Manpur-Mohla-Ambagarh Chowki district. Our government is a government of villages, the poor, and farmers. We want to deliver the benefits of government schemes to every household. He instructed the officials to take prompt action on the demands and problems of the villagers and to ensure that the benefits of the schemes reach every eligible beneficiary on time.
On the demand of the villagers, the Chief Minister announced the construction of a high school and higher secondary school building in Jhurandi village. He announced Rs 20 lakh for the construction of a CC road in the village, the construction of two high-level bridges – Rs 2 crore 54 lakh for the construction of a high-level bridge on the Gandai to Kritbadha access road and Rs 2 crore 52 lakh for the construction of a high-level bridge in Limo on the Gandai Karranala access road, and the construction of a new panchayat building in Gram Panchayat Bhorampur on the demand of the villagers.
Chief Minister Shri Sai held a “jan chaupal” in the shade of a banyan tree in the middle of the village’s market and started the conversation with the villagers in the Chhattisgarhi language, which further deepened the emotional connection with the villagers. He also listened to their problems, suggestions, and experiences related to the implementation of the schemes. The villagers wholeheartedly appreciated the Chief Minister Shri Sai’s easy, simple, modest, and humble behavior. The elders said that this was the first time in years that the head of the state had come directly to their village. Farmers and youth closely saw and felt the Chief Minister’s style connected to the soil.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudeo Sai, while clarifying the objectives of the Good Governance Festival, said that in this campaign, from the Chief Minister to the Minister, Member of Parliament, MLA, and local representatives are all actively participating and assessing the ground reality. He informed that he himself has visited many villages from Bastar to Surguja and is taking direct information about the progress of the schemes. The Chief Minister offered prayers at the Pawanputra Hanuman Temple located at the village market and wished for the prosperity of the people of the state. On this occasion, former MLA Shri Komal Janghel, Zilla Panchayat President Smt. Priyanka Khamhan Tamrakar, along with many public representatives and senior administrative officers were present.
180 PM Houses Completed in Jhurandi Village
The population of Gram Panchayat Jhurandi under Khairagarh Development Block is 1935. This village has a majority of Lodhi and Verma communities. Adequate arrangements for health, education, electricity, and drinking water are available in the village. Anganwadi centers are also operated. Primary school, middle school, and high school facilities are available in the village, which is providing quality education to the children.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a total of 217 houses have been sanctioned in the Gram Panchayat, out of which 180 have been completed and 37 are under construction. 616 women are being benefited from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Water is being supplied under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Villagers are getting employment under MNREGA. Women from 17 self-help groups in the village are associated with livelihood activities.
