Centre sanctions Rs 50 crore for RO-PAX jetty on Dhamra river

BHUBANESWAR: The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has accorded administrative approval for sanction of Rs 50.3 crore for creating all-weather RO-PAX (roll-on/roll-off passenger) jetty and allied infrastructure to attach Kaninali in Bhadrak and Talachua in Kendrapara district beneath the Sagarmala initiative. The State authorities will present one other 50 per cent (computer) price of the challenge.

Official sources stated the entire capital price of the challenge is Rs 110.6 crore which incorporates building of RO-PAX jetty at Kaninali and Talachua and utility infrastructure comparable to parking space growth, navigational aids and dredging. This challenge will cut back journey time for passengers from 6 hours by highway to 1 hour by waterway.
