Alakananda’s poem, which featured in Kerala Budget, displays spirit of survival

These traces from Wayanad lady Okay H Alakananda’s Malayalam poem ‘Mahamaari’ discovered a place within the finances whereas Finance Minister Thomas Isaac talked about the valiant spirit with which Kerala has been preventing COVID-19.

A Class X scholar of Kaniyampatta GHSS, Alakananda started writing poems two years in the past. “I got first prize at the taluk level in poetry writing competition conducted by our local library. It boosted my confidence. This is the first time my poem is getting published, that too in the budget page. I am on cloudnine,” she stated. The poem ‘Mahamaari’ was earlier discovered a spot within the ‘Aksharavriksham’ digital journal of the state General Education Department, which is a compilation of inventive works of scholars through the lockdown interval.

“I love Sugathakumari’s poems the most. I want to become a writer or a journalist,” she stated. Hailing from Cheekkallur in Kaniyampatta, Alakananda is the daughter of Government Information and Public Relations district workplace employees N S Hariharan and Jyolsna.
