Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning has stated that they’ve one large sport to go after reaching the ultimate of the 2023 Women’s Premier League. DC beat UP Warriorz by 5 wickets to complete on the high of the WPL group desk.

By India Today Web Desk: Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning has stated that they’ve one large sport to go after reaching the ultimate of the 2023 Women’s Premier League. DC beat UP Warriorz by 5 wickets to complete on the high of the WPL group desk.

Speaking after the sport, Lanning stated she simply needed the group to win, whereas insisting that they weren’t at their finest in opposition to UPW. Lanning scored 39 runs in 23 balls as DC beat UPW on the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

“Just wanted the team to win and help the unit. I don’t think we were at our best. We were sloppy on the field. Was a reasonable wicket. We got off to a flier and helped us when it started to turn,” stated Lanning.

She went on to say that Delhi simply has yet one more large sport to go and needs to nail that as nicely. One of Mumbai Indians or UP Warriorz will be a part of DC within the closing of the inaugural season of WPL.

“It seemed it came nicely with the new ball. They bowled a fair bit of spin towards the back end. We got some depth in batting. We have one big game to go. Hopefully, we will nail that. We will rest for a couple of days before the big game,” Lanning added.

18-year-old all-rounder Alice Capsey, who was adjudged the Player of the Match, stated she tried to remain calm underneath strain. Capsey picked up three wickets and scored 34 runs in 31 balls as DC beat UPW by 5 wickets.

“I played a different innings yesterday, which was fun. But I took some responsibility today. At number 3, it is about taking on the bowlers. I tried to stay calm under pressure. The duel with Sophie was superb. She is the world number 1 for a reason. First final of the WPL and that is exciting,” stated Capsey.
