Indian cricketer Sanju Samson will captain the Kerala squad for the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, it has been confirmed. The T20 tournament’s league stage for Elite Group-A will unfold in Lucknow from November 26 to December 8, 2025. Samson, a key player in India’s white-ball setup and recently involved in a major IPL trade with Chennai Super Kings, is expected to be a vital presence for Kerala. His performance in this domestic tournament will be closely watched as players aim to stake claims for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, slated to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The Kerala Cricket Association released the squad details, naming Samson as captain and wicket-keeper. The team, managed by Head Coach Amay Khurasiya, includes several promising players such as Vignesh Puthur, Mohammed Azharuddeen M, and Rohan S Kunnummal.
