Indian cricket fans have reason to be optimistic as Suryakumar Yadav, the team’s T20I captain, is making progress toward his return to the field. In a recent practice session, Yadav showcased his batting prowess, hinting at his recovery from injury. The player’s performance in the nets indicates he is getting closer to full fitness. In the IPL 2025 season, playing for Mumbai Indians, Yadav was the second-highest run-scorer with 717 runs from 16 innings, averaging an impressive 65.18 and maintaining a strike rate exceeding 167. He scored five half-centuries, with a highest score of 73 not out. After the IPL season, he had surgery for a sports hernia in Germany. He has since been rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy’s Centre of Excellence (CoE). With the Asia Cup 2025 starting on September 9 and India playing the UAE on September 10, Yadav’s return strengthens the team’s batting lineup, enhancing their chances in the tournament.
