Punjab is facing a crisis as heavy rainfall has led to widespread flooding, impacting numerous areas and disrupting normal life. With many districts under a red alert, authorities and rescue teams are working to mitigate the situation. In response, India’s Test captain, Shubman Gill, took to social media to share a message of support. He expressed his feelings and offered encouragement with the following words on X: “Heartbroken to see my Punjab devastated by floods. Punjab will always be stronger than any adversity, and we’ll rise up from this. My prayers are with all affected families. Standing strong with my people.” Prime Minister Modi has also contacted Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, to discuss the ongoing situation and has promised to provide necessary support. The continuous heavy rainfall has placed significant strain on Punjab, prompting a combined effort from villagers, volunteers, and state agencies to protect communities as water levels rise uncontrollably.
