The Buchi Babu 2025 tournament has commenced. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association is organizing this tournament from August 18 to September 9. A total of 16 teams are participating, divided into four groups. In a first-round match at the Guru Nanak College B Ground, featuring TNCA XI versus Mumbai, star Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan garnered attention by scoring a brilliant century.
Sarfaraz Khan scored his explosive century while batting at number five. When he came to bat, Mumbai had already lost three wickets for 98 runs. Khan then took charge of the team’s innings and scored a blistering century. He reached 100 runs in just 92 balls, which included nine fours and three sixes. This performance is particularly noteworthy for Sarfaraz Khan, considering he was not selected for the Indian Test team’s England tour.
Sarfaraz Khan has also been in the headlines recently due to his fitness transformation. After not being chosen for the Indian team, he worked diligently on his fitness. He surprised many by losing approximately 17 kilograms in just one and a half months. This match is his first since the weight loss, and he has managed to make a significant impact. Sarfaraz Khan is now focused on securing a spot in the home Test series against the West Indies.
Sarfaraz Khan’s younger brother, Musheer Khan, is also part of the Mumbai team in this tournament. However, he did not perform well in the opening innings. Musheer Khan scored only 30 runs from 75 balls in the first innings of the match. He started well but could not convert his innings into a bigger score.
