During the Asia Cup 2025 final, Sahibzada Farhan, the Pakistani opening batsman, set a new world record by strategically targeting Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Farhan replicated his aggressive style from the Super-4 match. This time, he successfully hit a six against Bumrah’s delivery, creating history.
India won the toss at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, choosing to bowl first. Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman opened Pakistan’s innings. In the third over, bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, Sahibzada Farhan hit a powerful six on the third ball. This shot not only made the match more thrilling but also earned Farhan the record for most sixes against Bumrah in T20 International cricket.
It was Farhan’s third six against Bumrah in T20 International cricket. He had previously hit two sixes against Bumrah in the Super-4 match. Sahibzada Farhan is the only batsman in the world to hit three sixes against Bumrah in T20 Internationals. Other batsmen such as Elton Chigumbura, Lendl Simmons, Kieron Pollard, Martin Guptill, and Cameron Green have each managed two sixes against Bumrah.
