In the aftermath of the DPL 2025 Eliminator match, Nitish Rana, the captain of the West Delhi Lions, shared his thoughts on the confrontation with Digvesh Rathi. The incident took place during the match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Tensions sparked when Rathi withdrew from his bowling run-up, and Rana responded in the same manner on the subsequent delivery. The tension increased when Rana hit a six in that same over. The resulting verbal exchange between the players escalated to a point where other players had to intervene. Rana highlighted that he wouldn’t initiate conflict, but he would respond when provoked, underscoring his commitment to respecting the spirit of the game. Rana also added that he never starts the fight and he always responds if someone provokes him. He also mentioned how his upbringing taught him to stand up for himself. Following the incident, both Rana and Rathi were penalized, with Digvesh Rathi receiving an 80% fine and Rana a 50% fine of their respective match fees.
