Pune’s MCA Stadium could become a temporary home ground for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. MCA Secretary Adv. Kamlesh Pisal disclosed that RR has recently surveyed the stadium and expressed a desire to host some of their home fixtures there. This news follows closely on the heels of similar interest from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in playing their 2026 home games in Pune. RR’s exploration of alternative venues is attributed to ongoing friction with the Rajasthan Cricket Association. The franchise, champions in 2008, also uses Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium for some home games. The final decision on which teams will play in Pune for IPL 2026 will be made by the BCCI, following further discussions with the interested franchises and the MCA.
