President Droupadi Murmu hosted India’s victorious women’s cricket team at Rashtrapati Bhavan, honoring their groundbreaking achievement in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. The President celebrated the team’s exceptional unity, resilience, and their inspiring role in empowering young girls across India. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led squad secured the coveted title by defeating South Africa in the final at the DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
During the felicitation, President Murmu commended the players for their remarkable journey, particularly their decisive semi-final victory over powerhouse Australia. She highlighted their steely determination and ability to perform under immense pressure, noting that their triumph is a landmark moment for Indian women’s sports and a testament to the nation’s growing sporting capabilities.
