The Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament kicked off with Nitya Pandya and Sarfaraz Khan each delivering impressive centuries for their teams. Kohli was unlucky to miss a half-century by a mere two runs. Pandya and Kohli are playing together for the Baroda team in this tournament.
Both Pandya and Kohli are representing Baroda in the Buchi Babu tournament. It’s important to note that the Pandya being highlighted is Nitya Pandya, and the Kohli mentioned is Parth Kohli.
Baroda played against Odisha in their opening match. Nitya Pandya and Harsh Desai opened the batting, building a partnership of 73 runs. Desai was out after scoring 31, but Pandya remained at the crease, and built a century partnership with Sukrit Pandey, during which he scored his century.
Nitya Pandya scored 102 runs from 175 balls, which included 12 fours and a six. He played in a Test series against the Australian Under-19 team last year with Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre, and he was the highest run-scorer for India in that series.
Following Pandya’s dismissal, Parth Kohli came in to bat at number 4, scoring 48 runs with 6 fours. Thanks to Pandya’s century, Baroda reached 381 runs for six wickets on the first day, declaring their innings to allow Odisha to bat.
