The wait is over! Lionel Messi, the celebrated footballer and captain of Argentina’s World Cup-winning team, is heading to India. Messi’s ‘GOAT India Tour’ was confirmed through his social media, creating a buzz among Indian football enthusiasts.
The announcement was made on October 2nd, during the Dussehra festival. Messi’s post included details of his tour, indicating his enthusiasm for the 3-day event.
Messi expressed his excitement about visiting India in December, stating, “I am very excited to come to a beautiful country like India this December. It will be a pleasure to participate in concerts, youth football clinics, paddle cup events, and charity programs in Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, and possibly another city. It will also be an honor for me to meet and talk to the special people and celebrities of India.” He said it is a great honor to return to India after 14 years and has fond memories of the fans and the country. Messi last visited India in 2011. His schedule includes Kolkata on December 13th, Mumbai on December 14th, and New Delhi on December 15th. A meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also possible in Delhi.
