Kane Williamson to bear surgical process on injured correct knee, extra more likely to miss ODI World Cup

By India Today Sports Desk: Kane Williamson is extra more likely to miss the ODI Cricket World Cup after struggling a knee hurt inside the IPL 2023.

Williamson, who was dominated out of the IPL after Gujarat Titans’ opening match, will bear surgical process on his injured correct knee, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) launched on Thursday.

The board added that the “standard rehabilitation timelines mean that Williamson is now unlikely to be fit and available for selection at this year’s ICC ODI Cricket World Cup in India”.

According to the scans, Williamson ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament whereas fielding for his group Gujarat Titans in direction of Chennai Super Kings on March 31. He is extra more likely to have surgical process on his knee all through the next three weeks.

Williamson, who led New Zealand to finish as runners-up in 2019 World Cup, harassed that he’ll take care of the surgical process and start rehab as rapidly as doable.

“I’ve received great support over the past few days and want to thank both the Gujarat Titans and New Zealand Cricket for that,” Williamson said.

“Naturally it’s disappointing to get such an injury, but my focus now is on having the surgery and starting rehab It’s going to take some time, but I’ll be doing everything I can to get back on the field as soon as possible.”

Williamson moreover harassed that he’ll do regardless of it takes to get match with the help of head coach Gary Stead and the group.

“I look forward to doing what I can to support Gary and the team over the next few months,” Williamson talked about.
