Due to Rishabh Pant’s injury, the Indian Test squad welcomes Narayan Jagadeesan as his replacement. Pant sustained a fractured toe during the fourth Test, leading to his exclusion. Jagadeesan, a wicket-keeper from Tamil Nadu, will travel to England. He has played 52 first-class matches, scoring 3373 runs at an average of 47.50, including 10 centuries and 14 half-centuries. His performance in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season saw him score 674 runs in eight matches, with an average of 56.16. He has also been part of the BCCI’s centre of excellence program. With the fifth Test against England starting on July 31 at The Oval, India aims to level the series, currently led by England 2-1. Jagadeesan’s addition provides India with a promising opportunity to equalize the series.
