Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar takes 4 wickets on County debut for Lancashire

Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar made a surprising debut for Lancashire within the County Championship on Tuesday, 19 July. Sundar took 4 wickets to place Lancashire in a good place on the finish of the primary day towards Northamptonshire. The proper handed off spinner first picked up opener Will Young early within the day after which broke the center order partnership that was constructing.

Sundar has been falling off the pecking order from the India group after always injuring his arm, one thing that has stored the T20 specialist out. Even whereas taking part in for SunRisers Hyderabad within the Indian Premier League, Sundar missed lots of matches for splitting the webbing of his bowling hand, ruling him out of key matches.

With his upcoming stint on the English county aspect, the 22-year-old can be making his comeback in red-ball cricket.

“I remember playing with my Playstation and choosing Lancashire against most of the domestic teams here. It is great to be here and playing for Lancashire,” Washington stated in an interview with the membership’s official YouTube channel.

The younger all-rounder added, “It has got some exciting talents and some experienced players. I am looking forward to sharing the dressing room with them and to sharing of knowledge about how cricket is played here.

“Most importantly, I look ahead to successful lots of video games and making recollections with all.”

Washington delved into his childhood memories and said that he loved to be Andrew Flintoff when playing video games.

“I was Andrew Flintoff as a result of he would give me 4 overs of strong tempo and swing, and clearly he might come down at six or seven and tonk some big sixes.

“Obviously, James Anderson is a legend, he can swing the ball both ways. Looking forward to seeing him here, seeing him bowl and how he goes about his things,” he stated.
