The India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025 saw the beginning of a controversy. After India’s victory, the Indian team refrained from shaking hands with their Pakistani counterparts. This incident, along with the Pakistani captain’s absence from the post-match presentation, fueled the controversy. The PCB then formally requested the ICC to remove match referee Andy Pycroft, alleging that he had instructed the players not to shake hands. The ICC, however, dismissed the complaint, thus supporting the match referee.
