The Indian Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the submission of a bid by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games (CWG). This decision includes the signing of the Host Collaboration Agreement (HCA) along with necessary guarantees from the relevant ministries and departments. The Cabinet has also approved providing financial assistance to the Gujarat government if India’s bid is successful. The Games are expected to attract athletes from 72 countries and provide opportunities for local businesses, tourism, and job creation. Hosting the CWG is projected to have a lasting impact by boosting tourism and inspiring young athletes.
