India’s High Jumper Earns Silver at Glasgow 2026, Leaders Send Warm Wishes
New Delhi, July 28 – Representing India at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, high‑jumper Sarvesh Anil Kushare secured a silver medal with a clearance of 2.25 metres. Three attempts at 2.28 metres fell short, leaving the gold just out of reach.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice‑President C. P. Radhakrishnan and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya each posted congratulatory notes on the social platform X, highlighting the athlete’s contribution to national pride.
Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Gujarat deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghvi echoed the sentiments, urging Kushare to continue his streak of success.
Kushare expressed gratitude to his family, coach and the people of Maharashtra, and confirmed his preparation for a gold‑medal bid at the Asian Games, vowing to give his 100 % regardless of weather conditions.
