Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan said on Wednesday on the eve of the first qualifier against Mumbai Indians in the playoffs, that if the team is clear about its plans, victory is sure. Left-handed opener Shikhar, while speaking to the media at a virtual press conference on Wednesday, said, “I don’t think his claim is strong.” We have got a great team and we are clear that we can beat any team. We just have to play good cricket and be very clear with our plans. I believe that if we manage to do this, then we can definitely win.

Shikhar said about Ajinkya Rahane – Yes, absolutely Rahane brings stability in the team. He brings stability in the middle order. He played an amazing innings in the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Their experience benefits the team so that I can play independently. Both Shikhar and Rahane had scored half-centuries against Bengaluru. It is noteworthy that Shikhar has scored 525 runs in 14 matches in IPL 2020, including two consecutive unbeaten centuries.

He said of his Indian teammate and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, “Rohit is a very good player and it is a different thing that he has not played the last few matches so I am not sure about his recent form and its Meaning that we can definitely take advantage of it. I wish them all the best.

Regarding his recent form and Australian tour, opener Dhawan said – I have been scoring 500 runs in IPL for the last four years and this season has been special, because I scored two centuries and got out for zero twice. I just want to perform consistently and am committed to give a great start to the team. Every season I play with good speed. Once you score runs, you get confidence for the next tour. I enjoy playing in Australia. This is a good opportunity for me to show my talent there. We will play for the Indian team after a long time.
