Former Australian cricketer Brad Haddin discussed the India versus England series, which concluded with the teams tied at 2-2 after a strong showing by Mohammed Siraj in the final Test. Haddin made the point that India could still succeed even without their star bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
On the final day of the last Test, Siraj took the lead for India, when England needed only 35 runs. Siraj took a key wicket. He achieved his second five-wicket haul of the series, demonstrating his ability to lead India’s pace attack while Bumrah was out.
Bumrah played only three Tests, allowing Haddin to highlight that other bowlers can step up when he is not playing.
“India, they can take a lot out (this) that they can still play without Bumrah. His life goes on if the other bowlers find a way. They have got so much talent over there in India. But he didn’t win a Test match,” Haddin explained on YouTube.
Additionally, Haddin complimented Siraj’s leadership, recognizing his desire to take charge of the bowling attack, particularly in critical situations. He acknowledged that Siraj sometimes makes errors, but he embraces the pressure. Haddin indicated that players like Siraj, who don’t fear mistakes and seek to make an impact on the opposing team, are valuable. Haddin concluded by noting Siraj’s determination to bowl in the final overs, and he minimized the impact of a missed catch, noting that the entire Test performance shouldn’t be judged on that singular event.
