The Indian cricket team is preparing for the Asia Cup 2025, which will begin on September 9th in the UAE. India is scheduled to commence its campaign on September 10th. News has surfaced regarding the Indian team: players selected for the Asia Cup may have to take a special fitness test in Dubai. This test has been introduced by the BCCI to assess the players’ fitness.
The BCCI recently introduced the Bronco test to evaluate the fitness of Team India players. The team’s strength and conditioning coach, Adrian Le Roux, recommended the Bronco test along with the Yo-Yo test and other current fitness evaluations. Initially, it was believed that several Indian team players were present at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence for the Bronco test in Bengaluru. However, it was revealed that the Bronco test was not conducted for the Indian cricket stars at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence.
Reports indicate that the Bronco test for players selected for the Asia Cup 2025 may take place in Dubai. The Indian team will depart for Dubai on September 4th and will conduct its first session at the ICC Academy on September 5th. The players are expected to undergo this test at that time. The Bronco test involves a 20-meter shuttle run, followed by 40-meter and 60-meter runs. These distances comprise one set. A player is expected to complete five sets (1200 meters in total) without rest.
The Asia Cup 2025 will include a total of 19 matches. India’s first match is against the UAE on September 10th. Following this, the team will face Pakistan. This match is scheduled for September 14th. India will play its final group stage match against Oman on September 19th. The Super 4 stage will then take place, potentially featuring another match between India and Pakistan.
