Nitish Rana is set to return to Delhi for the upcoming domestic cricket season following a period with Uttar Pradesh (UP). Rana, a left-handed batsman, has received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA).
Ankit Chatterjee, CEO of UPCA, confirmed that Rana requested the NOC, citing family reasons. Ashok Sharma, secretary of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), acknowledged Rana’s plans, though formal documentation is awaited.
Rana’s cricketing journey began in Delhi, progressing through the ranks. He moved to Uttar Pradesh in 2023, even leading the team as captain. However, his performances in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and Vijay Hazare Trophy were underwhelming. Rana seeks a fresh start and hopes to revive his career by rejoining Delhi.
