During the fifth and final Test between England and India at the Kia Oval, an interesting incident occurred involving Ravindra Jadeja. While batting on Day 3, Jadeja was distracted by a fan in the stands wearing a bright red t-shirt. He reported the matter to the umpire, Kumar Dharmasena.
Dharmasena informed the ground staff about the situation, requesting that the fan be relocated. Rather than move, the fan agreed to change his shirt. A ground staff member gave him a grey t-shirt. Jadeja responded with a thumbs-up, resolving the issue.
India strengthened their hold on the game. England needed 374 runs at the end of Day 3. India only lost one wicket in the morning session, with Akash Deep scoring 66 off 94 balls. He and Yashasvi Jaiswal had a 107-run partnership.
Jaiswal, after a difficult first innings, played a controlled innings of 118 off 164 balls. Jadeja contributed a half-century. Washington Sundar provided a late innings boost.
England had a good start, with Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley scoring 50 runs. However, a yorker from Mohammed Siraj got Crawley out for 14. England finished the day needing 324 more runs, with nine wickets available.
