Vincet Keymer, the 20-year-old German Grandmaster, has won the Chennai Grand Masters 2025, securing the title before the tournament’s conclusion. He created history by becoming the sole champion. The victory was confirmed after he drew against Dutch Grandmaster Jorden Van Foreest in Round 8. This result also means he has entered the World’s Top 10 live ratings for the first time. Round 8 of the Masters section concluded with all matches resulting in draws, leaving the second and third-place standings uncertain. Keymer shared his enthusiasm, stating that winning early games helped him to be more confident, focused and calm. Breaking into the Top 10 is a milestone he wanted to achieve and he is focused on maintaining his position in the final round.
