Bronco Test: A New Fitness Benchmark for Indian Fast Bowlers

The BCCI has introduced the Bronco Test to further improve the fitness of fast bowlers so that they can run more on the field instead of spending time in the gym. According to reports, the Bronco Test was started at the BCCI's Center of Excellence (COE) after the England tour. In the Bronco Test, a player has to start with a 20-meter shuttle run. After this, there will be a 40-meter and 60-meter run. All these will be combined to make a set. A player is expected to complete five such sets (a total of 1200 meters) without stopping. According to reports, Indian cricketers have been asked to complete the Bronco Test within 6 minutes. Earlier, the standard for fast bowlers in the 2-kilometer time trial was 8 minutes 15 seconds, while it was 8 minutes 30 seconds for batsmen, wicketkeepers and spinners. Except for Mohammad Siraj, all the fast bowlers were worried about their fitness on the England tour.
