Australia has named its squad for the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand, scheduled for October. The team, led by captain Mitchell Marsh, includes 14 players who will travel to New Zealand next month. A significant highlight is the return of veteran all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, who is 36 years old and returns to the team after a nine-month absence. This suggests that the selectors have him in mind for the T20 World Cup. Stoinis is expected to strengthen the middle order, bringing both batting prowess and bowling skills. In T20 cricket, Stoinis has achieved a remarkable record, scoring over 6800 runs in 340 matches, including 310 sixes. He has also taken 179 wickets in the format. Australia will compete in a three-match T20 series against New Zealand, starting on October 1st. The squad also includes Mitch Owen and Matthew Short, while players like Nathan Ellis, Alex Carey, Aaron Hardie, and Cameron Green have been excluded.
