Chinese scientists have introduced a groundbreaking washing machine that cleans clothes without water, designed specifically for space applications. This innovative solution tackles the problem of washing clothes in water-scarce environments. The machine utilizes dew and ozone to clean clothes effectively. The 12-kilogram machine can clean 800 grams of clothing in a single cycle, and is easily portable, resembling a suitcase. It uses 13 fluid ounces of a special solution. Instead of detergents, the machine uses ultraviolet rays to disinfect the clothes. Scientists believe this technology can help astronauts reduce the amount of clothing they need to bring. The cleaning process takes approximately 30 minutes, involving fog, ozone sterilization and drying. The machine is especially suited for missions to Mars or the Moon lasting more than 2.5 months.
