With Bihar gearing up for elections, the Election Commission is undertaking a thorough process to ensure the accuracy of the voter rolls. The Election Commission is following the established guidelines of June 24, 2025. A key question for voters is which documents are needed to stay on the list. The Election Commission has said that if you want to be on the voter list, you have to fill out the voter enumeration form and provide the necessary documents by July 25, 2025. If you do not provide documents immediately, you will still be included in the draft voter list that will be released on August 1, 2025. The process for registering voters is based on Article 326 of the Constitution. You need to provide at least one of the 11 accepted documents to be on the list. If you can’t, after September 1, the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) can review your case. The ERO decides whether to add or remove your name, and you can appeal the decision to the District Magistrate and then the Chief Election Officer. The Election Commission has sent the forms to over 97% of the voters.
