The recent gang rape case in Kolkata has drawn strong criticism from the BJP, with Pradeep Bhandari leading the charge against the Trinamool Congress. Bhandari stated that West Bengal is not safe for women under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, alleging the government’s complicity in protecting criminals. He highlighted the Kasba case where an accused is affiliated with the TMC. The National Commission for Women has taken action, launching an investigation and seeking answers from the authorities. NCW member Archana Majumdar expressed her dismay and vowed to support the victim. BJP leader Dilip Ghosh also spoke out, criticizing the law and order situation and the alleged involvement of TMC members in criminal activities. The police have arrested three individuals in connection with the gang rape of a law student.
