The residence of Vice President C P Radhakrishnan in Chennai experienced a bomb threat on Thursday, which police have now classified as a hoax. Upon receiving the email at the Assistant Commissioner of Police’s office, a comprehensive security operation was launched. This involved deploying the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and a trained sniffer dog to thoroughly inspect the Vice President’s Poes Garden home. After a diligent search, officials confirmed the absence of any dangerous devices and deemed the threat to be a hoax. Chennai police are actively pursuing leads in a wave of similar false threats received recently. In a separate case, a student in Delhi admitted to sending a bomb threat to their school to evade exams, illustrating the diverse motivations behind these alarming but ultimately unfounded threats.
