B Sudershan Reddy, the INDIA bloc’s nominee for Vice-President and a former Supreme Court judge, has commended Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his efforts to engage with the public and bring about policy changes. Reddy specifically highlighted Gandhi’s role in influencing the Telangana government to conduct a caste census. Reddy emphasized the importance of the right to vote. The Office of the Vice President of India is not a political institution. Reddy will contest against the ruling NDA’s nominee, CP Radhakrishnan. The election is scheduled for September 9, and the last date for filing nominations is August 21.
