Voting continues on 43 seats of District Development Council, crowds seen at polling booths amid severe cold

District Development Council elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. These elections are being held in the state for the first time after the removal of Article 370. Polling for the first phase of the District Development Council elections has started. The people started arriving at the polling stations from seven in the morning and cast votes. At present, the state is getting cold, despite this, people are coming to the polling booths in large numbers to cast their votes. This voting process will continue till 2 pm.Let us know that this first phase of voting is being held for 43 seats. These include 18 seats in Jammu and 25 in Kashmir. In the first phase, around 296 candidates are in the fray. Also, let us know that in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, voting is going on for the panchayat by-election. Article 370 was removed in the year 2019 in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the first election after this. In view of this, strict security arrangements have been made in the valley. Which can lead to peaceful voting.
