Responding to the damage caused by the disaster in the Dharali-Uttarkashi and Harsil areas on August 5, 2025, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami immediately took charge, coordinating rescue and relief efforts. He contacted relevant authorities and instructed them to begin operations. The district administration worked in conjunction with the Army, NDRF, SDRF, Police, Fire Department, and ITBP. The Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Home Affairs were kept abreast of developments.
Leaving Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister went to the State Emergency Operations Center in Dehradun on the evening of August 5, 2025, to oversee the relief efforts. Union Home Minister Amit Shah contacted the Chief Minister by phone, promising all possible assistance.
