VaranasiA city which is famous for religious faith and cultural heritage, is now taking an important step towards environmental protection. In the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Railways has now started a unique effort, which will not only improve the cleanliness of the railway station, but will also prove to be an important initiative towards environmental protection. Material Recovery Facility (MRF) plant has been set up at Cantt railway station in Varanasi, which will build useful things like manure and cardboard from the West Material emanating every day.
The plant has been set up at Cantt railway station in Varanasi, and it is expected that this plant will be completely operational in the coming few days. The special thing is that from this plant, about 5-6 tonnes of waste will be disposed of properly at the station, which will give great benefit to the environment.
West material manufacturing and cardboard manufacture
DRM of Lucknow division of Northern Railway, SM Speaking about this project, Sharma said that about 5 to 6 tonnes of garbage is released daily from Cantt railway station in Varanasi. This waste will make products like manure and cardboard, which will not only improve the cleaning of the station but will also benefit the environment.
The process of recycling all plastic, packets of chips, water bottles, paper plates and other waste materials will be initiated into cardboard. Along with this, manure will be manufactured with food vest material, which will later be used in the station and surrounding area.
Steps towards making the station green
A total of 60% of the fertilizers will be available from this plant, which will be used to keep the station and the surrounding area green. 40% of the fertilizer will be sold out of the plant, which will be useful in other agricultural functions. With this step, not only the atmosphere of the railway station will be clean but the surrounding environment will also be better.
This step can prove to be an important initiative towards environmental protection, which can also be implemented in other cities. This plant will not only help to hide the waste, but will also work to promote the process of reuse.
Electricity connection process
DRM SM According to Sharma, the process of electricity connection of this plant will be completed soon and after that it will start fully work. At present, this plant will only dispose of waste at Cantt railway station in Varanasi. However, in future, this scheme will also be implemented at other railway stations, which will spread awareness about cleanliness and environment in the entire network.
Future plans for other stations
This project, launched at Varanasi’s Cantt railway station, can also be installed at other railway stations as a model in future. Railway officials say that this project will be expanded to other stations in the next few months. Subsequently, the method of disposal of West Material at railway stations will completely change, and this project will be an inspiration not only for railway stations but also the surrounding environment.
The scheme is a revolutionary step from the Railways, which will not only dispose of waste properly, but will promote greenery and contribute a major contribution towards environmental protection. Such initiative will also improve the cleaning system of cities and there will be awareness among citizens about waste management.
Big step towards Varanasi’s cleanliness
This initiative will also benefit the local citizens of Varanasi, as more greenery and cleanliness will be seen in the station and its surrounding areas. This project will help in keeping the city’s environment clean and tourists coming here will also get a clean environment.
In the coming days, such efforts can give a new direction to railway stations not only in Varanasi, but also in other cities, so that the environmental approach of the railway across the country can be strengthened even more.
