A court has sentenced a man to life in prison and imposed a fine of Rs one lakh after finding him guilty of raping his one-year-old stepdaughter. The trial was completed swiftly by the local court.
The conviction was based on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The girl’s mother reported the incident, stating that the sexual assault occurred on July 18 while she was away. The girl suffered injuries and bleeding.
The charge sheet was filed, followed by immediate daily court proceedings.

In a separate legal proceeding, Delhi’s Patiala House Court has postponed its decision on the bail application submitted by Gaganpreet Kaur. She was arrested in connection with the Dhaula Kuan BMW crash case, which resulted in the death of Finance Ministry Deputy Secretary Navjot Singh.
Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Ankit Garg reviewed CCTV footage and listened to arguments from the Special Public Prosecutor, the defense counsel, and the complainant’s legal representative before reserving the order.
The court is scheduled to announce its decision on September 27, when the accused will also appear in court.
The Delhi police presented CCTV footage of the incident during the hearing.
