A harrowing hit-and-run has claimed the life of one sister and left another critically injured in Chandigarh’s Sector 46. A black Thar SUV, reportedly speeding, collided with the two sisters as they stood by the road in the Burail area, awaiting transport after college. The driver of the SUV, without stopping, fled the scene, leaving the sisters in a dire state. Emergency services were called, and while attempts were made to save Sojeff, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. Isha, the surviving sister, is currently under intensive medical care at Sector 32 Hospital. The investigation into the Thar’s registration, which is linked to Sector 21 in Chandigarh, is ongoing, although the suspect’s current whereabouts are unknown. Law enforcement is prioritizing the review of CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the perpetrator of this heinous crime and to prevent future road tragedies.
