Authorities in Uttarakhand have arrested Rajiv Kumar, a 20-year-old, for the rape and murder of a teenage girl in the Udham Singh Nagar district. The arrest was made within 12 hours of the incident in Amiyawala village, Jaspur area. The police have confiscated the blood-stained blade and the clothes worn by the accused. The victim, a Class 8 student, was gathering peels for her animal in a sugarcane field when she was attacked. The accused is accused of rape and subsequently murdering the girl.
