A gruesome double murder has occurred in Tamil Nadu’s Kallakurichi district. K Kolanji, a 60-year-old daily wage worker, is accused of beheading his second wife and her alleged lover. The shocking event culminated with Kolanji carrying the severed heads to the Vellore central prison, where he surrendered to the authorities. The victims were identified as K Lakhmi (40 years old) and K Thanjarasu (50 years old). The incident came to light when neighbors discovered the headless bodies on the terrace of Kolanji’s apartment and notified the police. A team, led by Kallakurichi DSP S Thangavel, arrived at the crime scene to investigate. A sniffer dog was used to aid in the investigation. The bodies were taken for postmortem examinations. Kolanji is in police custody and has been charged with the murders. He admitted to the crime, claiming it was triggered by the couple’s refusal to end their relationship. The murder weapon was recovered.
