The Greater Noida Authority is actively working to mitigate traffic congestion in the Shahberi area of Greater Noida West, implementing a ‘Plan B’. As part of this plan, six illegal cuts have been closed to restrict unauthorized access points. Furthermore, the Authority has started removing illegally constructed ramps and conducted surveys for the same, with demolition expected to begin shortly. The initiative aims to significantly reduce traffic issues in Shahberi. While six cuts are closed, there are still five illegal cuts open that contribute to traffic problems and potential accidents caused by drivers using the wrong side of the road. The Authority mentioned that these cuts will also be closed if needed.
The Shahberi Marg, which spans approximately one and a half kilometers from the Iteda intersection to the crossing, is being improved. While the road has been widened, some electric poles still obstruct the flow of traffic. The process of removing these poles has started. The removal of these poles, along with the illegal ramps, could offer full relief from traffic-related issues.
Prerna Singh of the Greater Noida Authority confirmed that the road widening project connecting Ghaziabad and Greater Noida is now complete. She acknowledged an improvement in traffic flow and stated that the remaining issues will be addressed soon.
