The Bombay High Court has decided that the case against a Pune student, who posted content critical of India’s Operation Sindoor, will not be dismissed. The student had filed a petition to end the legal proceedings after deleting the post and issuing an apology. The operation, launched after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22nd, involved India targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan, leading to a ceasefire on May 10th.
The student had reposted content from an Instagram account called Reformistan, accusing the Indian government of provoking war against Pakistan. Although the student deleted the post within two hours and issued an apology, the court has decided that these actions alone are insufficient for case dismissal. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for two weeks from now.
