SC to listen to plea on Joshimath subsidence on Jan 16

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court is scheduled to listen to on Monday a plea in search of the courtroom’s intervention to declare the disaster in Uttarakhand’s Joshimath as a nationwide catastrophe.
According to the trigger checklist of January 16 uploaded on the apex courtroom web site, a bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices P S Narasimha and J B Pardiwala would hear the petition filed by Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati.
