The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is commemorating its 100th year of existence today. The centenary celebrations commenced at 7:40 AM at the Resham Bagh ground in Nagpur. The event includes the participation of over 21,000 volunteers, with former President Ram Nath Kovind as the chief guest.
Prior to the main program, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat performed the Shastra Pujan. The program also features yoga, practical demonstrations, mock combat, musical performances, and a parade. The Vijayadashami festival is being observed across more than 83,000 RSS branches nationwide. Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar founded the RSS on Vijayadashami in 1925.
Mohan Bhagwat has been the Sarsanghchalak since 2009. Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar was the founding Sarsanghchalak. Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the centenary by issuing a commemorative postage stamp and a 100-rupee coin.
Several international guests from Ghana, South Africa, Indonesia, Thailand, the UK, and the USA are attending the Vijayadashami celebrations.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat offered his respects to Dr. Hedgewar at the Vijayadashami celebrations in Nagpur. Former President Ram Nath Kovind was also present. Both leaders participated in the Shastra Pujan on Vijayadashami 2025.
