Rajendra Rathore blames Congress for turning student unrest into political theater

During a heated parliamentary session, BJP MP Rajendra Singh Rathore condemned the disruption caused by the paper‑leak opposition bill and accused the Congress party of exploiting the students’ dissent for electoral mileage. Rathore claimed that Congress used the protests as a platform to score political points, attempting to draw the youth into its fold.

He emphasized that the proposed law contains strict punishments, hefty monetary penalties and provisions for fast‑track courts, designed to act as a deterrent. Rathore argued that the opposition’s continued criticism is a strategy to keep the issue alive in the media, rather than a genuine concern for the welfare of students.

Opposition leader Tikaram Jolly responded by calling out the BJP’s ideology, pointing to past failures in handling paper‑leak scandals during the tenure of former Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and demanding accountability.
