‘Rahul or whoever he picks is our PM candidate’: Bihar Congress chief on Nitish as Opposition’s face

NEW DELHI: With the JD(U) apparently eager on the projection of Nitish Kumar because the Opposition’s face within the 2024 parliamentary election, Bihar Congress president Madan Mohan Jha on Wednesday stated Rahul Gandhi or whoever he picks would be the get together’s prime ministerial candidate.

Jha’s assertion got here days after JD(U) chief Kumar snapped ties with the BJP and joined fingers with the RJD and the Congress to type the federal government in Bihar.

Asked if Kumar could be acceptable to the Congress because the Opposition’s face, he advised reporters, “Neither Nitish Kumar ji has said that he is the prime ministerial candidate, nor have we said that he will be our PM candidate.”

“Our candidate is our leader Rahul Gandhi ji or whosoever he nominates for the post our entire party will stand behind that person,” he stated.

The Bihar Congress chief, nevertheless, stated the difficulty was not at hand and could be mentioned later as two years have been left for the Lok Sabha election.
