The MP/MLA Special Court has convicted former MP Prajwal Revanna in a case of rape involving a domestic help in Karnataka. The court’s decision concerns one of the several rape cases filed against him. The sentencing is set for August 2nd. Prosecutor Ashok Nayak confirmed the verdict, noting the examination of numerous witnesses and the rapid pace of the trial. He credited the SIT team’s work, calling it a win for the victim. Digital evidence, including videos, was crucial in the investigation. The charges stemmed from a complaint, leading to investigations under various IPC sections and the IT Act. The SIT’s investigation gathered substantial evidence. Revanna was arrested in May 2024 and has been in custody since then.
