Shibu Soren, a prominent figure in Indian politics and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, died on Monday at the age of 81 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. He had been hospitalized and undergoing treatment for a kidney-related ailment for more than a month, since the end of June. His condition deteriorated, and he was put on a ventilator on August 2. His son, Hemant Soren, the current Chief Minister, announced his death on X, marking a significant loss. Soren, the founding patron of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), had reduced his active political role in recent times.
